Although we see ourselves as individuals and are even physically separated, we share questions, feelings, concerns and ideas. Psychology describes: There are visible impulses and visible behaviour, in between lies the blackbox, the invisible processing centre of the human being.
Dialogue and participation
The BLACKBOX project used the time of the pandemic and the drastic change in social life as a catalyst. Through weekly Zoom meetings, a shared blog and social media, people made music, danced and discussed impulses such as topics of refuge and trust. It was important to us that not only national borders are overcome here, but also those between art and society.
An installation in three countries
The final exhibition in Nairobi (KE), Cologne (DE) and Canelones (UY) will bring this process to life. A livestream will guide the audience through the three exhibition spaces, showing part of the pool of material already created and becoming a simulation itself.
